Healing 💔heARTs💖 Through Creativity
Rediscovering Joy and Overcoming Depression
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by life’s struggles and pressures, longing for a sense of peace and relaxation? I know that feeling all too well. My own journey has been one of rediscovering creativity as a powerful tool for healing my 💔heart💖. Yet, too many of us believe we are not creative at all. We've buried our creativity under life's responsibilities and a mountain of LIES.

But Were We Always This Way?
Think back to when you were three years old. You were drawing, painting, singing, and dancing — completely unafraid and uninhibited. No one had to tell you to create; you just did it naturally. And you had the confidence to run to your parents, proudly declaring, “Look, Mum! I made this!” without a hint of fear or self-doubt.
But somewhere along the way, something changed. We shrank back. We stopped. Why"🤔
The Lies We Tell Ourselves
As we grew up, we started believing the lie that we weren’t good enough. I convinced myself I couldn’t sing, dance, draw, paint, write, or speak. Yet, ironically, all these things had been a part of my life in some way. The real battle wasn’t in my ability; it was in my mind.
I dismissed my creativity as worthless, believing it had no value. But the truth is, creativity is a powerful transformative force for healing 💔heARTs💖. It nurtures emotional expression, builds resilience and offers a therapeutic outlet, ultimately contributing to better mental health and well-being.
Give Yourself Permission to Create
If you’re feeling low, anxious, or overwhelmed, I want to encourage you to pick up a pencil and colour something. Write in a journal. Put some paint on paper. It’s just paint, for Pete’s sake—it’s not going to bite you!
Creativity isn’t just about traditional arts like painting or singing. It could be knitting, sewing, cooking, gardening — whatever fills your creative well and brings you joy. What is it that makes you light up and when you do it hours just fly by without you realising it?
Take That First Step
So today, I challenge you: take a moment to do something creative. Not for anyone else. Not for approval. Just for you.
