In my quest for learning & personal growth,  I've embarked on John Maxwell's 30-Day Growth Plan course.

Be bold, he says & to ensure accountability, post it on social media or text your thoughts to a friend or mentor. Keep in mind, that a shared commitment becomes a strong commitment.

So here are Day 1 reflections...

  1. What keeps you from being authentic with others?🤔

The risk of being rejected, ridiculed, or criticised.

I know that my fear of rejection, ridicule, and criticism comes from the concern that others may not appreciate me for who I am. While this fear is rooted in a history of abandonment and rejection, I am actively working through these feelings. Despite past challenges, I am committed to embracing my authentic self and building resilience against any negativity that comes my way. I know that I have the strength to overcome these fears and continue to grow.

It’s a vulnerable place to be, but I believe that embracing our true selves, despite these fears, is where real growth and connection happen. 🌱💖

  2. What barriers to authenticity (beliefs, fears, experiences etc.) do you struggle against?🤔

I celebrate the journey of overcoming the fear of rejection, the lessons learned from facing abandonment, and the strength found in navigating criticism and betrayal.

While these experiences remind me that revealing my true self might invite judgment or dismissal, I joyfully embrace the chance to share my authentic self with the world!

There’s a beautiful balance between being seen and knowing that not everyone will understand. I'm discovering the joy in trusting my worth and engaging fully in life, relishing every moment regardless of the risks.

A glance over all the questions in the workbook reveals that I'm going to have to dig very deep to discover where I am, determine where I'm going & plan how I’ll get there.
